But I think this settles it

Or, to be more specific:

So, that's a no go for GTA 4. It's cool though, I guess, SA is about 20 bucks less, and that's worth like ten parking passes at the hospital parking lot.

Erm... Does San Andreas run on Windows 7? I know dick about computers.

GTA:SA should run on 7 without an issue. There is actually probably more fun to be had with San Andreas anyway. GTA4 looks nicer and is a bit more 'real', but it doesn't have the diversity in geography that SA has. I might dig out my old copy and play it before i get V.

should work just fine, just run it in XP compatibility mode. (when you install it, go to where you installed it, right click on gta_sa.exe, and click properties. then find "compatibility mode" and set it to "Windows XP SP3")

I've run SA on Win 8 and OSX 10.8 without issue so Win7's probably not an issue. The frame rate's capped though because today's specs are completely unheard of, so if you want a higher FPS you'll have to mod it. Not really a horrible thing these days, SA modding is quick to learn and makes the game a lot more fun.

I'll definitely take a look at modding, if only to replace the cars with real cars, haha...
